Barnet Council has voted to explore twinning with the Israeli city of Haifa

Barnet Council has voted to explore twinning with the Israeli city of Haifa, after neighbouring Hackney ended its own fifty-eight-year partnership under its new Green leadership.
The Conservative motion passed with all Tories in favour, Labour abstaining and the lone Green opposed. Cooperation is planned on healthcare, education and interfaith work, starting with an invitation to Haifa's mayor.
